The real estate world has changed.  Internet is the home search portal.  There’s no longer a need for newspaper and home magazine advertising.   Advances in technology are more efficient in managing the listing and sales transaction. So shouldn’t real estate fees reflect the savings derived from the new real estate world?

Homeowners are moving more often (every 5 years on average) and losing equity in real estate commissions each time they sell.  Recent declines in home values leaves less from which to pay selling fees.  And, for those owners that took advantage of 100% financing or equity lines anticipating double-digit appreciation that never materialized there is little or no equity to pay traditional commissions.
